Reverse painting flips the traditional order: start with foreground elements (like the closest trees and details), layer the midground, and finish with the background (distant trees, moon, and sky). When viewed from the unpainted side, the clear styrene gives your artwork a glossy, luminous depth that's truly magical! This captivating design features bold gradients of turquoise, green, and yellow, with dramatic black pine silhouettes for a serene, nighttime vibe

The cost is $40 per person, and includes all art supplies. All proceeds benefit the Lakes Region Art Association, supporting local artists and arts programming throughout the community.
Space is limited, so early registration is encouraged.

Dive into the fun reverse painting technique on clear styrene (a safe, modern alternative to glass that's similar to acrylic). You'll create a glowing, ethereal moonlit forest lake scene, complete with a vibrant crescent moon, silhouetted pine trees, and perfect symmetrical reflections in the calm water – all evoking peaceful stillness under a colorful night sky. Perfect for beginners – no drawing skills required! Just follow step-by-step guidance while sipping your favorite beverage (BYOB welcome).

Inspire your young artist to dream big and create boldly! Our Kids Exhibit offers children and teens the exciting opportunity to see their artwork proudly displayed in a real gallery setting. From imaginative pencil drawings and vibrant paintings to mixed media creations and photography, artwork in all media is welcome and encouraged.

To celebrate creativity at every stage, submissions are grouped by age—Kindergarten–2nd Grade, 3rd–5th Grade, 6th–8th Grade, and 9th–12th Grade—giving each artist a meaningful and age-appropriate platform to shine. Participating in the Kids Exhibit builds confidence, nurtures self-expression, and allows young creators to experience the joy of sharing their vision with the community.

We invite parents to help spark a lifelong love of the arts by encouraging their child to submit a piece. This exhibit is a celebration of imagination, effort, and creativity—where every young artist’s voice is valued and every work tells a story.

July 30th through August 30th

Our Annual competition between members “in good standing” is an event we look forward to each year. Members compete in any number of media for ribbons and prizes. All judging is performed by outside experts in the fields of art.

Join us for the Public Reception to meet and greet several of the artists, hear the judges final decisions and witness the awarding of prizes.
