Emergency Medical Grants Available
The New York Foundation for the Arts has reached out to the Lakes Region Art Association with the following grant information that is designed to help local artists with Medical Emergency Grants.
New York Foundation for the Arts (NYFA), in partnership with the Robert Rauschenberg Foundation, has announced the newest cycles of its Rauschenberg Medical Emergency Grants program. The program provides one-time grants of up to $5,000 for recent unexpected medical, dental, and mental health emergencies, and is open to artists in need who are creating in visual arts, film/video/electronic/digital arts, and choreography and living in the U.S., Tribal Nations, District of Columbia, and U.S. Territories.
Eligible expenses include, but are not limited to: bills from your hospital/doctor/dentist/clinic, including co-pays; tests/diagnostics/assessments; physical/occupational therapy, acupuncture, chiropractic; prescription drugs specifically for the emergency medical condition; emergency dental work; and transportation expenses to receive treatment. You may apply whether you have received emergency treatment yet or not; and whether you have paid the expenses or not. Applicants’ private information stays private.
Are you an artist in need of critical medical, mental health, or dental treatment? Has a medical emergency impacted your creative practice? The Rauschenberg Medical Emergency Grants program provides grants of up to $5,000 for recent, unexpected medical, dental, and mental health emergencies experienced by artists in financial need who are creating in the visual arts, film/video/electronic/digital arts, or choreography. Privacy is guaranteed.
Cycle 35 will be open February 10 - March 10 for emergencies occurring August 1, 2025 and after.

These programs are open to artists living anywhere in the U.S., its territories, tribal nations, and the District of Columbia. Artists with disabilities, artists of color, and artists living outside of New York are particularly encouraged to apply. These programs are supported by the Robert Rauschenberg Foundation and administered by NYFA.
