If a Picture Paints a Thousand Words
May 23rd through June 15th
Step into a world where art and words collide! We’re inviting artists to submit stunning works paired with poetry or prose that speaks to the inspiration behind them. This isn’t just a showcase—it’s a plunge into the creative abyss. Imagine a fiery painting of a storm-tossed sea, its waves crashing alongside a poem that thunders with passion. Or a tender sketch of a child chasing a butterfly, humming with prose steeped in nostalgia. Each piece becomes a window into the artist’s soul, a fusion of vision and voice.

Since its founding in 1940, the Lakes Region Art Association has been a steadfast presence in New Hampshire’s creative community—enduring through a world at war, the dawn of television, the first steps on the moon, the birth of the internet, and the rise of smartphones and AI. Over 85 years, while the world changed in ways once unimaginable, the Association has remained true to its mission: supporting, showcasing, and celebrating the visual arts. The 85th Annual Members Exhibit honors this enduring legacy, bringing together the region’s finest artists in a vibrant display of talent, perspective, and artistic evolution.
